José Blanco Cigar workshop & Drew Estate Cigars Event
Join us this Thursday, June 21, 2012, from 3 to 9 pm for a one of a kind cigar event at the Danbury store! This Thursday we will be kicking it off from 3 to 7 with a Drew Estate Cigar event with John Hart. The deals will be buy 4 get 1, buy a box get a Drew Estate / Joya De Nicaragua sampler pack. Then at 7 pm Christine Morgan, the Lady of the Stick, will be doing a hybrid wrapper presentation. This will be followed by a Cigar Workshop hosted by José Blanco! Full details below. In a first of it’s kind event with a major cigar manufacturer, Butthead’s Tobacco Emporium @buttheads will be presenting an evening with José Blanco @joseblanco809 of Joya de Nicaragua cigars @joyacigars. This Workshop for 50 in-store participants will also be broadcast as a Virtual Cigar Workshop live on the web to an additional 250 cigar enthusiasts. The Workshop will be held in Danbury, Connecticut at Butthead’s Tobacco Emporium’s anchor store. The event fee is $50 and includes a sampler of four Joya de Nicaragua cigars and a special event cigar commissioned for the event. The Joya de Nicaragua cigars included in the sampler are Joya de Nicaragua Celebratión Toro, Joya de Nicaragua Cabinetta No.7 Toro, Joya de Nicaragua Antaño 1970 Alisado, Joya de Nicaragua Antaño Dark Corojo Poderoso.
The unique cigar that has been produced for the event is a 7×48 Churchill with four different wrappers, each one inch long, that the entire group will smoke at the same time. José’s animated presentation will test your cigar knowledge and open your eyes to how the wrapper of the cigar affects the final blend. During the 70 minute presentation, smokers will give their input and interpretation as well as learn from one of the world’s renowned cigar masters
José has given this seminar to groups including a 200 person event for the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers and to small groups on Cigar Safari trips to Nicaragua. “This is the first event of this nature that I know of,” says Blanco via Skype from Esteli, Nicaragua. “I think this will be a fabulous event for so many people. We have never been able to make this tasting seminar available to such a broad base of cigar smokers.”

The Avo cigar brand became available in 1988 and was founded by musician and composer Avo Uvezian. After music, Avo Uvezian's next great passion is cigars.
His love for cigars resulted in him developing his own unique blend with legendary cigar manufacturer Hendrik Kelner, who is based in the Dominican Republic and who also produces the renowned Davidoff brand.
In 1995, Davidoff bought the AVO brand from Avo Uvezian and now Avo concentrates on the promotional aspect of the brand. Avo cigars are handmade in the Dominican Republic and are manufactured in the same factory that produces Davidoff cigars.
The Avo brand uses the very finest premium tobacco leaves for its filler and binders from the Cibao Valley, the tobacco heartland of the Dominican Republic. The cigars have a reputation for being consistently well made, and this is reflected in the price being premium-priced.
